Skin Cleansing
Skin Cleansing
Everyone wants to have a healthy and blemish-free complexion and skin cleansing is the most effective method to remove grease and grime which are most likely to amass and block the skin. Skin cleansing is a method that keeps your skin fresh and bright and prevents minor skin problems. You should make it a habit of cleansing your skin daily as cleansers also stimulate its normal exfoliation and assist in restoring the skin’s youthfulness. Always cleanse your skin at morning and before going to bed. But skin cleansing should also be done before using special facials treatments etc., as well as before and after your makeup to keep your skin lively and youthful.
Use only those cleansers that suit your skin because some skin cleansers may cause dryness, irritation, redness and itch. Especially, soap-based cleansers can have a very drying effect on the skin. As aging occurs, the sebaceous glands secret less sebum and using soap-based cleansers may suck the moisture from the skin. The type of skin also plays vital role in selecting right kind of cleansers. Where dry skin requires moisturizing cleansers, oily skin needs oil-free cleansers and sensitive skin need fragrance-free gentle cleansers.
Your skin is the outermost defensive part of the body and tries to combat all types of infection and harsh elements. Since your skin is exposed to all kind of weather conditions, environmental pollution and chemicals, it requires thorough cleansing. Rinsing your skin with normal tap water will only remove around three quarters of the grime and oil on your skin. On the other hand, skin cleansers not only rid you from grease and grime but also prevent the bacteria to accumulate in the areas vulnerable to infection. A major advantage of using skin cleanser is that it does not take out the necessary fats which form water-resistant coat on the skin. Thus, the skin cleansers act as emulsifiers.Follow right method to cleanse
Before cleansing your face, always rinse off your hands. This prevents the bacteria to transfer from your hands to face.
Begin skin cleansing from your hairline first because hairstyling products attract dirt. Then gradually come down over the face and gently massage with circular movement. Finally, drag the cleanser to your neck.
Skin cleansing needs gentle massage. Wait for a couple of minutes before rubbing the grime and grease with soft cotton.
Always use tepid water to rinse of your skin because too hot or too cold water will only cause blushing and sometimes may even damage capillaries.
Types of Skin
Dry skin: This type of the skin has a taut feeling and cleansing milk is ideal for it. Dry skin should be cleansed gently with moisture and oil and cleansing milk is the perfect replacement to nourish the skin.
Oily skin: As this type of skin quickly forms blackheads as well as pimples, foaming wash is the best recommended cleansing method to usually clean up the oily skin because it takes away the essential oil of the skin that nourishes it.
Combination skin: This type of the skin has some excessive oily parts on the face comprising the area of skin around the forehead, nose, mouth and chin. The skin in this area appears to have large, open pores and the cheeks are usually normal to dry. A cleansing gel is effective for combination skin as it does not leave any dryness on the skin after cleansing.
Mature skin: The skin which looses its elasticity is a mature skin. This type of skin can be easily recognized by the appearance of some lines on the skin’s surface and its nature to get dried quickly. You can use rich cleansing milk to moisten your skin and nourish it properly.
Sensitive skin: Use lotions that are soluble in water to cleanse your skin. Avoid using those products that can cause dryness and inflammation to your skin.
